Tak-Ming's obituary
Ming was born in Shantou, Guangdong Province, China on October 20, 1940. He was the sixth of nine children born to Chung-Ying Lam and Fwi-Lang Toh.
From 1963 to 1967 he attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, and earned a degree in chemical engineering. He spent his summers as a waiter in Boston’s Chinatown.
In 1968, Ming joined the Barclay Water Management Company in Watertown, Massachusetts. It was there he met his wife, Ullabritt Edvardsson, whom he married in 1971. Ming was a beloved colleague at Barclay for 43 years until his retirement in 2010.
Ming will be lovingly remembered by his wife Ullabritt, their sons Chung-Wei and Chung-Kai, his daughter-in-law Xia He, and his grandchildren Isak, Olivia, and Tian Lam. Ming will also be dearly missed by his surviving siblings, Ching-Loy, Tak-Fai, and Tak-On.
Ming's family will carry on his legacy by cooking generous amounts of delicious Chinese food, enjoying all things related to the sea, and living by his philosophy, “Just take it easy.”
