Tai's obituary

Tai Osei Ohikwareme Odion, 23, of Snellville, GA and La Marque, TX passed away suddenly on August 4, 2022. His family is shocked and deeply saddened by his loss.

Tai was born on April 4, 1999 to Titilayo and Gege Odion in Atlanta, GA. Tai spent his early years in Newark, NJ where he played baseball, football, took tap dance lessons, and attended the prestigious Newark Boys Chorus School. Titilayo, Tai, and Tia moved to Pearland, TX when Tai was in middle school. He went on to graduate from Robert Turner College and Career High School in 2017. Tai also attended Alvin Community College while in high school. When he graduated high school he also graduated college with an Associate's Degree in General Studies.

Tai went on to attend the University of Houston and then transferred to Georgia State University where he was due to graduate this December with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Economics, and Philosophy. After spending time working with his father and grandfather in their respective businesses and talking to his “Uncle” Lance and “Uncle” Troy he decided that he too would become an entrepreneur.

He loved playing the guitar, making beats, and playing golf…all of which he taught himself. He was a bright and kind individual. Anyone who knew Tai, knew that he was brilliant and forward thinking. He also had a passion for cooking and investing.

In addition to his parents, Titilayo Smith and Gege Odion, Tai will also be missed by his sisters, Tia Odion and Sydney Morenike Smith-Odion, his brother Charles Akhigbe Sherman Odion, grandmothers Gloria Imani Jackson and Lydia Odion, grandfather Faquir Shah Mahdi, great-aunts Juanita “Yaa Asantewaa” Wilson, Louise James, Barbara Jenimisa King, Deborah Agyemang, great-uncles Walter Hart, Michael Jackson, Chireh Alhaji Ibrahim Adams, aunts Florence Odion, Margaret Odion, and Bre Rose Brown, uncles Christian Odion, Farad Shah Mahdi, and Robert Brown, step-father Keith Smith, step-brothers Kyle Smith and Kaden Smith, cousins Mashariki Wilson, Mekka Wilson, Lance James, Hope Hart, Dustin Hart, Brooke Hart Jones, Malkia King, Haiba King-Samuel, ChaChe King, John Baker, Jonathan Baker, Teneerah Baker, Tiamoyia Ross, Taneisha Ross, Ramel Ross, Sanobia Ross, Imani Ross, Ismail Ross, and Bobbi Brown, Godmother Dawn Harris Jeffries, Godfather Troy Harrison, and a plethora of extended family and friends.
