Background
Soul of Nations is a 501 (c) 3 organization founded by Tabitha's great-grandson, Ernest Hill Jr. that aims to uplift Indigenous peoples through various forms of media, innovative strategy, and youth-led initiatives. Its mission is to progress Indigenous and Black communities through the arts, research, and scholarship. They envision a world where all people of color are respected as contemporary societies and have greater access to equal opportunities in the following sectors: social, creative, academic, and economic.
2- years ago, after discovering more about Tabitha's rich ancestral history, a passion in Ernest and Tabitha's great-grandchildren grew to memorialize their great-great-great-great grandmother, Celia Newsom, and keep their family legacy alive. With this in mind, Ernest began the Celia Newsom Foundation Initiative, in honor of Mother Goggins' Great-Grandmother, Celia Newsom https://www.celianewsom.org/
Soul of Nations and The Celia Newsom Foundation strive to serve as an example to all of the many other African American families whose rich family legacy has been placed in jeopardy due to the premeditated deceitful gain of our nation's colonizers and colonial descendants. The Celia Newsom Foundation believes that Black Historical and Family Narratives should be told by the descendants of Black People. Contribute to Soul of Nations
