I am so glad to have known Allen. It was a treat to have someone come to our little town just to say hi on their way to see other family members. His gentle spirit and forgiving attitude will be missed in this world.

Oh Mr. Sunde! My earliest memory of you was coming to your house to hang out with Lisa after school. It was rare that I ever saw you, actually. Tiptoeing past your room, the soft glow of a TV from inside, it was the only indication you were there. I mostly heard you. Your deep voice bellowing at Lisa to turn down the music. I was always a little intimidated by your voice.
Later, I learned what a softie you were! Very fond of giving emotional speeches, where you cried about meeting your sweet love, Elizabeth. I was also impressed with how much feeling you lived your life. And what a full and beautiful life it was.
It was an honor to know you. Thank you so much for giving me Lisa as one of oldest and dearest friends. Rest easy. ❤️

Allen was such a big teddy bear. He always had a big warm smile and a twinkle in his eye when he gave you a huge engulfing hug. Family and friends meant the world to him. He leaves a legacy of love and warmth with everyone he knew. We miss and love him so much.

To the Sunde family and all who loved Allen: I am so sorry for your loss. My heart goes out to you all. While I only ever met Allen a handful of times in my life, I know how kind he was to my sister, Debbie, over the decades and for that I am truly thankful. Rest in peace. ❤

His booming voice and laughter rings in my ears as I read this. His warmth kept me warm often. Inclusive and welcoming. Grounded. And an excellent orator whose wit was matched by his wisdom. I love you. And mourn with you.

You have lost your life partner and your love. Nothing can replace him. I wish I had the right words, but I don't. Just know that I care and my love and prayers are with you.
