Sylvia Y. Smith
December 14, 1940 — July 1, 2024
Sylvia Y. Smith, of Newington, GA, passed away on Monday, July 1st, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born in Savannah, GA on Saturday, December 14th, 1940.
Sylvia is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ronald "Ronnie" Smith, her children David Anderson (Anna), Lori Green, Debbie Couey (Scott), Cindy Rackley (Rex), Shea Roberts (Margie), and Ronald "Tony" Smith (Lori), as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren and her dear friend Sandy Banks Ambrose. She is also survived by other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father John Raymond Youmans, mother Barbara Ethridge Youmans, and brother John R. Youmans, Jr.
Sylvia retired as an Executive Secretary from the Shipping Business and enjoyed knitting and crocheting, watching Netflix, and writing poetry. She even had a book of poems published.
There will be no public services
Sylvia will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.
