Mr.s Sylvia Crump.
Deceased April 20, 2020 in Bloomfield CT. Born Sylvia Hendricks January 26,1941 in Boligee Alabama. Joins Wilbert Crump Jr. (Husband), Bryant Hendricks (Grandfather), Martha Hendricks (Mother) Jesse Campbell (Father) in Death. Survived by Son Preston Crump and Grandson Paris Williams. A member of the Greene, Hendricks, and Russell family.

Sylvia was born and raised on a farm under her Grandfather’s tutelage in the small town of Boligee. She was a member of Mount Pilgrim Baptist church and loved the Lord at a very early age. Attended Greene County Training School, where she played on the girl’s Basketball Team. She moved to Hartford Ct. in 1960 where she held her first job as a domestic worker. She met Wilbert Crump Jr. in 1961 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member and served on the Usher Board. They were married for 54 yrs until Wilbert’s passing in March 2015. Preston Crump is their only child of this union who now resides in Atlanta. Sylvia and family resided on Barbour st. for many years. She later resided on Imlay st. in Hartford and lived there until she went into Bloomfield Health & Nursing Center in 2017.
Sylvia went on to work at G.Fox & Co department store for 25 years. Later , she worked as a cook at the Mt. Olive daycare for children. She was an excellent cook and adored the children, and they adored her. She was a lover of family. She loved to talk, laugh, shop, dress well, cook and eat. She was creative with her hands, she liked to crochet, decorate, and almost took up a career in hairdressing. She loved plants and flowers and always had her Gospel music or programs playing.
