Rebecca was a true friend. Easily the most generous person I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, generous with time, energy, care. In all things she exhibited an expansive generosity of spirit. She was honest, open, considerate, and had a bottomless well of love to share with the world.

From almost immediately after we met we could talk about anything. There was nothing in the human experience that was out-of-bounds for her, no emotion too raw, no memory too difficult, no topic too small to be worth expressing and exploring. It felt freeing to know her. I remember long conversations of deep sharing, flowing easily, endlessly, while driving to places she wanted to show me that meant a lot to her; places that would come to mean a lot to me, through her. I remember her smiling and laughing at things she shared and I shared that to other people would be embarassing, and I remember smiling and laughing along with her, and through that being freed of pain.

I will miss you, always. I think of you when I hear songs you loved, when I see places we went together, and besides that, whenever the world is silent. Please hear me, wherever you are immortal spirit: please hear me when I say I will be better through your example, and I will miss you terribly, and I love you, and I know that you love me.
