Sybil Christine Bononno (Pence)

Died June 5, 2025

Sybil was a powerful and loving force who touched everyone she came into contact with. She was accepting and comforting, and always willing to lend a hand, or even just a shoulder to lean on in hard times. 

She spent her lifetime building a career in Healthcare, which allowed her to continually learn and absorb new information and concepts, solidifying her ability to help others, which was so important to her. She retired from Azar Eye Institute after many years of service, and making so many close relationships and friends along the way. The sisterhood she formed through her adventures and career in Healthcare, comprised of Patty Yoder, Paula Aubain, and Crystal Griffith was so precious to her and they became not only her lifelong friends, but her family as well.

She loved being in nature especially on the water. Sunbathing, fishing, and kyaking with her dear friend Marc Durham, were her favorite pass times. She always used to say, "A day on the water is the best medicine." Her love of music was a big part of her personality,  and any genre that moved her would get her attention. She liked to send songs to her family and friends to let them know she was thinking of them.

She loved to organize and host family dinners, holidays, and birthdays. Football season was an especially exciting time, having fantasy football parties with her family and friends was a favorite hobby of hers and games were never missed. 

She had a gift for growing and tending to plants, and created a beautiful garden full of flowers that she was very proud of and loved to enjoy with others. 

Sybil had the ability to connect and understand people from all walks of life, and she created bonds which endured the test of time. 

She is survived by :

John Bononno, the father of her children, of Salisbury, MD

Talmage Bloodsworth, her companion, of Allen, MD

Her Children and Grandchildren

Michael and Amanda Poe (Bononno)

Emalie, Saige, and Gideon Poe

Olivia Bononno and her son Logan Wade

Andrew Bononno and Dalyn Budler (in spirit)

Elizabeth Atkinson and her daughter Willow Nicole

Amber and Crystal Atkinson, her bonus daughters

And Autumn and Talmage Bloodsworth,  her bonus children

She is preceded in death by :

George Pence, her father
