Svea's obituary
Born: 1972, in Toenning, Germany
Died: August 30, 2022, in Fountain Valley, CA, United States of America
Svea Evert, beloved wife and mother, left for Heaven unexpectedly on August 30 after battling breast cancer successfully for many years. Now she is home, healed and set free—face to face with Jesus, whom she loved wholeheartedly. Svea never lost hope in the God whose love triumphs over sin, sickness, and death. Her family trusts the same God for grace and peace in this time of mourning.
Svea married Thorsten Evert in Germany on September 12, 1997. They moved to Switzerland in 1999 and immigrated to the United States in 2006. They both became US citizens in 2012.
After graduating in Germany with a degree in early childhood and special education, Svea worked in a school for deaf and hard of hearing children, a Catholic orphanage, and a German Red Cross preschool program. After moving to Switzerland, Svea devoted herself to caring for her family. She homeschooled all of her children. She also volunteered in the Cottonwood Church Kid's Ministry for many years.
Svea deeply pursued life, God, and family. She loved spending time in nature to recharge and find inspiration for art projects. Her favorite pastimes were cooking, traveling, photography, and drawing near to God with worship music. While Svea had a calm demeanor, she was full of humor. She had firm convictions and was fiercely protective of her loved ones. She found her greatest joy in being a wife and a mom.
Svea has been the wife of Thorsten Evert for 24 years; they were best friends for over thirty years. She is Mom to Lukas, Emily, and Joel. They are her greatest treasures. She is also missed by her loving mother, Erika (Guenther); her mother-in-law, Marion; her brothers Felix (Barbara), Normann (Rosi), Sven (Carola), and Sascha (Ivonne); three nephews and one niece; many more extended family members and friends from Germany and the United States, and her beloved Cottonwood Church family.
