Suzanne's obituary

Suzanne Wear of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on 2/17/23. Suzanne, or “Bean,” as her husband nicknamed her, & her children jokingly called her, was born in Upper Arlington, Ohio to her parents William, and Arlene Bockelman. She had four siblings (Kathy, Julie, Connie, and Bill), grew up in Upper Arlington, & attended both St. Agatha Elementary School, & Upper Arlington High School. Suzanne attended The Ohio State University for a brief period, before taking a job as office administrator at her husband Barry’s company. Suzanne and Barry worked together a bit before they started dating, and eventually, got married. In the past few years, Suzanne started working at Nationwide Arena in Guest Services, where she saw some of her favorite shows & sporting events.

Suzanne’s biggest joy in life was her family and being a mother. She had 3 wonderful children: Collin, Jillian, and Griffin. Attending their school functions, sporting events, and seeing their successes, brought Suzanne indescribable joy. She was known for her great sense of humor and vivacious personality. She had a fondness for murder mysteries and rooting on her Buckeyes each football Saturday. As her family will tell you, she would root for the team live, but often, you’d find Suzanne cheering at a replay of a big play, and that always made her family smile. The family always looked forward to their vacations throughout the year, and Suzanne took great pride in planning them. Whether it was a short trip to their condo in Port Clinton, or their annual beach vacation, Suzanne always looked forward to them, and did a terrific job planning them.

Suzanne is survived by her husband of over 32 years Barry Wear, her children Collin & his fiancé Megan, Jillian and Griffin, her mother Arlene, and her sisters Kathy, Julie and Connie. Preceding her in death was her father William and brother Bill.

For those who would like to pay their final respects, a visitation will be held on 2/26 from 2PM-5PM at Schoedinger Funeral home on 1740 Zollinger Road. A celebration of life mass will be held at St. Agatha Church on 2/27, at 12 PM.
