Background
Suzanne recently passed on September 18. She was a wonderful mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend who brought joy to all of our lives. She leaves behind her husband Jim Varkalis, their two beautiful daughters Amelia and Charlotte, her mother Valerie Smycz, her sister Sandra and her brother Ted.
Suzanne devoted her life to her family, friends and her passion for art. Suzanne’s excitement for art began as a teenager and evolved from creating art to studying art history in college. She was a Director at RS Johnson Fine Art for many years, a respected art appraiser, and recently received her Master’s degree in Education from DePaul University and taught art.
We are all devastated by Suzanne’s loss. I am currently asking for donations to the Varkalis family during this difficult time. Your donation will go to funeral expenses and support for Suzanne’s two daughters. Any amount will be appreciated.
