Suzanne's obituary
Mrs. Suzanne M. French-Pruitt was a loving wife to Anthony Pruitt, a cherished member of a large extended family, a visionary leader, a devoted mentor, and a steadfast advocate for authenticity. She was an active Catholic, a proud member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, and served on the board of Servant Leader Scholars ATL. Throughout her distinguished career—marked by over eleven years at Google and a decade at Cox Communications—Suzanne redefined what it meant to lead with excellence, heart and to be a good human. She was born in Louisiana and passed away there on Apr 22, 2026.
A Foundation of Excellence
A proud graduate of East St. John High School, Suzanne built a formidable background in law, business, and technology. She earned her BBA from the University of Louisiana Monroe, an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University, and a Doctor of Law (JD) from Tulane University Law School. This unique expertise allowed her to navigate the intersections of operations and advocacy with unparalleled grace.
Family and Remembrance
She shared a deep bond with her great-nieces and nephews, often hosting them for summers in California and Georgia or organizing grand adventures, such as a large family trip to Colorado. Suzanne took immense pride in their successes, especially her great-niece who works in a restaurant at MSY New Orleans International Airport and frequently sent her pictures of the many celebrities she encountered there. She and Anthony also enjoyed taking trips to Los Angeles or Las Vegas to watch their beloved Lakers or participate in a bingo tournament.
Suzanne was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Olivia French, and her sisters, Anita K. Pierre and Alanna Y. French. She is survived by her devoted husband, Anthony Pruitt; her sister, Evelyn T. French; and a loving family of nieces, nephews, godchildren and close friends.
A Legacy of Authenticity: "Masks Off"
Suzanne’s greatest professional impact was her belief in the power of community. As a driving force behind employee resource group engagement, she worked tirelessly to create a global space of authenticity and appreciation. She championed the philosophy of "taking the mask off," believing that we do our best work [in and outside of the workplace] only when we are our true selves. In her words:
"That’s when you feel like you belong. That’s when you know you’re supposed to be here."
Suzanne spent her life keeping the door open for others. Her physical presence will be missed, but her "Masks Off" spirit remains one of many lasting gifts.
