Obituary of Suzanne Maria Montagna

Suzanne Maria Montagna (Bennett ) passed away on July 8, 2024 at 8:55 am.

Suzanne was Born on April 18, 1950 in Orange, New Jersey to John Bennett and Marguerite (Koch ) Bennett and was raised in Orange, New Jersey. She worked at Singer Sewing and Bell Telephone until she met and then married her love, Frank Montagna. She moved to West Orange, New Jersey in 1981 and lived there for 21 years.

In West Orange, New Jersey she made many great neighborhood friends from Watchung Avenue which lasted a lifetime and became like her family. She worked as a school aide at Washington Elementary School until she moved to East Hanover, NJ with her daughters in 2002. She devoted her retirement to helping raise her grandchildren and resided there for 22 years until her passing.

Suzanne had a love for food and cooking. Enjoyed making many arts & crafts, swimming, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She loved music, especially Frankie Valli and Three Dog Night. Suzanne would never pass up an opportunity to have a warm cup of coffee or tea, and quality time with friends & family. She also always looked forward to and treasured 'Lily time', a special time she shared with her cousin.

Suzanne was predeceased by her husband, Frank Patrick " Duke " Montagna,; her father, John Bennett; her mother, Marguerite (Koch) Bennett; and her brothers, John "Jackie" Bennett and Richard Bennett.

Suzanne is survived by her daughters, Dawn Montagna and Michelle Bennett-Watt; and son-in-law, Francis Watt; and her son, Michael Donovan. Who she reunited with in 2017.  Her sisters , Joan McNab and Kathy Eccleston. Cherished grandmother to Antonia Torres, Gloria Gonzalez, Raquel Watt, and Alec Watt.

A private memorial gathering will be held to honor Suzanne.
