Suzanne's obituary
Loving daughter, wife, mother, grandma, and great-grandma Suzanne Meister (nee Short) passed away peacefully at St. Elizabeth hospital at the age of 82 years on Friday, June 16,2023.
Born and raised in Northern Kentucky, she lived in Fort Thomas eventually moving to Florence, KY. She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Knepshield, and father, George Short.
Suzanne was the beloved wife and best friend of Maurice Meister Jr., and they spent 60 wonderful years together growing and nurturing their family. She was wonderfully devoted to and immensely proud of her three children Maurice Meister III (Edwinna), Jennifer Baker (Sam), and Janice Long (Charlie).
She was a loving, warm, doting, and proud Grandmother to Maurice Meister IV (Michelle), Natasia Bachman (Roger), Renee Skedel (Adam), Christine Besselman (Ashley), and Joshua Long (Allie).
Suzanne was a joyous and loving great grandma to Levi, Ruffen, and Ellie.
She spent her early years studying to help others through education, and she earned her teaching degree from EKU. She went on to teach primary school in Northern Kentucky. She was busy raising her children, teaching, and travel planning for families. She loved to know she was bringing relaxation, creating family memories, and providing enjoyment to families through planning their vacations. In her retirement, she was active with experiencing her own vacation adventures with family, exploring all things Disney, visiting the beach, working at the Garden Center of Home Depot, and creating memories with her family.
She led by example, and there was never a job too large or too small that she would not tackle. She was a strong, determined and fiercely independent woman. She was a cancer survivor, a fighter, and had a will to live and love each moment of her life to the fullest. We will miss her every day.
Special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at St. Elizabeth Hospital who provided invaluable care for her.
A private family memorial will be held at a future date.
