Suzanne Laurin Barnes's obituary
Suzanne Laurin Barnes Laurin, 65, of Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland, former home town resident of Georgian Bay, her beloved Penentanghuisene . Suzanne passed away August 17th, after six long years of braving her cancerous disease . At her final day, she was surrounded by her husband, Paul , her step-daughter Robin, & close friends. Suzanne was a hard working woman devoted to her family, catering business, prior to this she was in Toronto as a Rental Agent & Assistant Super Intendent as well as Abbotsford British Columbia.
Susan , as called , had a sassy witty sense of humour with a genuine gentle soul & happy go lucky demenour which couldn't be copied. Her family and relatives were always a priority in her life. Suzanne loved fishing, boating, travel & nature, especially foraging hobbies searching for "morelles" wild berries of all kinds" she loved |life. "She was my everything" . Suzanne is survived by her daughter, Lisa & her children, Cole, Isac, Ethan. Suzanne extended family in Grand Falls included 2 other grandchildren, Cheyenne & Aviana (Robin's Hennesey children). Leaving her large family of nine siblings, Susan had "no favourites" but she was all our favourite. A FACEBOOK page dedicated from the Paul Barnes family was posted August 18th, 2022.
Her funeral has taken place in Grand Falls-Newfoundland. In her memory we are celebrating a general attendance mass at the Midland Holy Shrine September 17th, 10:30 am mass. Following the mass at 12:30 to 2:30 pm a Celebration of Life gathering at the Penetanguishene Royal Canadian Legion, hosted by her family. A memory sharing of " how Suzanne touched our lives" then onto St. Anne's Cemetery @t 2:45 pm for our sister's final earthly resting place with our Mother. Obituaries from families aren't written by professionals. may differ in memories & views may differ in style. In the end "we don't fuss over small details" this Obituary isn't about the survivors, the focus is about the passing of our dearly departed Suzanne , in our own words. We all grieve regardless. Suzanne, summarized in only a few words, best quoted by Lady Astor "When she came in, it was like he sun shining into the room" she was our fun, loving sister & clone of our mother, Leona Laurin.
