Suzanne's obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Suzanne Hopkins, also known as Sue, who departed this life on the 25th of April, 2024. Born on the 13th of August 1973, Suzanne's radiant spirit brought joy and light into the lives of those fortunate to have known her.

Suzanne was a lively, bubbly, and loving individual who touched the hearts of those around her with her kindness and generosity. She was a committed attendee at the First Lutheran Church, where she gave her time and energy as a devoted member. In addition to her dedication to her church, Suzanne was a volunteer at Genesee Serves, always ready to lend a helping hand and aid in their charitable endeavors.

She had a deep love for her favourite TV shows, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, and cherished creating beautiful memories with her immediate family. She also enjoyed the tranquil setting of Oceanside, CA, which held a special place in her heart as one of her favourite vacation spots. Suzanne’s love for the color blue was notable, often reflecting her bright and warm personality.

Perhaps one of Suzanne's greatest accomplishments was raising her children, a cause she held dear to her heart. She instilled in them her own values of kindness, generosity, and love—a testament to the wonderful mother she was.

Suzanne is survived by her sister, Dianna Prough; her daughter, Crystal Hopkins; her son, Kyle Hopkins; and her nephews, Thomas Kirk and Jonathon Mender. She was predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Smith and her father, Dwayne Smith.

To have known Suzanne was to have known a truly remarkable woman. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life and the many ways in which she touched ours. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity and love that will continue to live on through her children and those she has left behind. While we will miss her infectious laughter and warm smile, we take solace in the beautiful memories she has left us with.
