Suzanne Fak (née Hislop), age 73, passed away on February 11, 2025, in Port Charlotte, Florida. Born on November 20, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, Suzanne lived a life marked by dedication, patience, and quiet strength.
Suzanne lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her work, and the simple joys that brought her happiness. Suzanne devoted over three decades of service to the United States Postal Service, retiring after 33 years of steadfast commitment. Her work ethic and reliability left a lasting impression on colleagues and coworkers alike.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose devotion to her family was unwavering. She is remembered with deep affection by her former husband, Gary, daughter Darcy, son Ryan, daughter-in-law Jennifer, and cherished grandchildren, Anyon, Connor, and Natasha. Her love for her family was unwavering and evident in every aspect of her life. Suzanne also remained close to her sisters, Sheryyl Crotty and Sheelia Gilbert; brother-in-law Will O'Crotty, and sister-in-laws Ellen Prince and Sue Fak, who were cherished parts of her extended family. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Stanley and Shirley Hislop, and her sister, Sherise Darlak.
In retirement, Suzanne found joy in the simple pleasures that brought her happiness. A lifelong fan of Detroit Tigers baseball, she followed the team with enthusiasm through every season. She had a deep appreciation for nature and spent countless peaceful hours birdwatching. Reading was another passion that enriched her days—books were both companions and reflected her curious spirit.
Those who knew Suzanne will remember her for the many lives she touched with kindness, humor, and quiet strength. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those who loved her.
