Susanne Smith, 70, of Gulfport, Florida passed away on August 25, 2022 at Suncoast Hospice in St. Petersburg, FL following a sudden health event.

On July, 20, 1952 she was born in Cold Spring, New York the daughter of the late Foster E. & Marie (Ireland) Smith. She leaves behind several family members  including: Nephew Robert Smith (Keli), Nephew Douglas P. Smith, great-nephews Hudson & Parker Smith, brother Douglas R. Smith (Mary Lou).

Sue started her career as Health and Education Teacher and Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Dover Jr./Sr. High School in 1982 in Dover Plains NY. She then became Assistant Principal in 1991 and Principal in 1994 at Dover Jr./Sr. High School. Susanne then moved to Spackenkill where she became Principal of Spackenkill Senior High School in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1999 and later retired in 2009, choosing to move to Florida.

Ever the educator at heart, her hobbies & interests included traveling abroad, boating, canoeing, reading & art.
