April 4, 1937 - June 21, 2025
Susanna Williams Lashbrook, born on April 4, 1937, left her earthly family on June 21, 2025, to rejoin her heavenly family and friends who have passed before her. She was predeceased by her mother, Caroline Ferrie, her father, Herald E. Williams, her stepmother, Barbara A. Williams, her husbands: Kenneth Nelson, Paul Lashbrook, Bob Tidwell, and Jim Rue. She leaves behind her daughter, Nan Richardson, of Newport Beach, CA, her son, Will Nelson of Las Vegas, NV, and her sisters, Cynthia Williams of North Carolina, and Julie Mitchell of Oregon, her grandson Christopher Irvine and her great granddaughters, Isla and Karter Irvine. She loved and supported many stepsons, stepdaughters, and step-grandchildren with her husbands, Paul, Bob and Jim.
Susanna was born in Ontario, California and lived much of her life in Southern California, where she resided in Newport, Costa Mesa, Huntington Beach, and Laguna Woods. She attended Elementary school in Newport Beach and graduated high school from Westlake School in Los Angeles. She attended her beloved University of Southern California, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi sorority. Sue was a lifelong fan and supporter of the Trojans, even using the USC Fight Song as her phone ring tone to remind her of those happy days. Sue was an excellent educator and spent her long career teaching elementary and junior high at Carden School in Costa Mesa California, where she made a lasting positive impact on the lives of her many students.
Sue loved her life near the ocean. As a child, she lived in Newport and became a life-long Newport girl. She loved days and nights on the water in Newport Harbor, enjoying the boating world and filling her home with art reflecting her love of the area. One of her favorite activities was sharing her love of the arts with her children by participating with her family in the Laguna Beach Pageant of the Masters every summer.
There will be a family gathering to celebrate her life in Newport Beach on August 23, 2025. Memories may be shared on “Everloved.com”
