Susan's obituary
Susan Smith Salvago, born July 17, 1958, sadly passed away on June 30, 2025, surrounded by her children.
Susan was a woman who radiated warmth, kindness, and generosity. Her spirit genuinely touched everyone she met. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to helping others — both through her career as a teacher and social worker, and through the countless small acts of compassion she extended every day. Susan inspired those around her with her resilience, grace, and unwavering faith.
She is survived by her children: Haley Hamilton, John Michael (Lexi) Salvago, Meredith (BJ) Murphey, and Jordan (Shawn) Campbell Salvago, as well as her sister, Sandy (Scott) Thomas. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to Rozlyn and Indiana.
Susan is now reunited with her beloved daughter, Aly Hamilton; her husband, John A. Salvago; her brother, Michael Smith; and her parents, Laverne Smith Graves and Wilmer “Bill” Smith.
She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, often with a warm cup of coffee and her Bible in her lap. Her gentle presence, deep faith, and boundless love will be missed beyond words.
Susan touched the lives of many, and her memory will live on through the stories, love, and faith she shared with her family and friends.
