Susan married Stephen Rothman in October 1971. Stephen and Susan were inseparable, having been married for 51 years after meeting on a blind date and dating for one year. Stephen and Susan were parents to three sons, Gabriel, Gerome, and Jacob. Unfortunately, Susan lost her son Jacob after passing away from a severe illness in May 1986 and grieved this terrible loss for the rest of her life. Susan immensely enjoyed reading, especially murder mysteries and romantic novels. Susan also enjoyed watching television dramas, police procedurals, and soap operas. Susan also enjoyed watching baseball, sharing that passion with the rest of her family, being an emphatic fan of the New York Yankees.
Susan was a loving wife and was devoted to her children. She was always there, whether taking her sons to doctors over long distances or Hebrew school all often after working a long day. She was always sure to support them at their marching band competitions. Susan encouraged her children in all their personal activities and pursuits in life. She was their number one fan.
