Susan's obituary
With love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Susan Nancy Raymond at her daughter's home on August 26, 2024 in Moncks Corner, SC. Born February 13, 1941, Susan's 83 years were filled with unwavering love for her family and lifetime friendships.
Susan was a confirmed member of the First Methodist Church in Racine, WI. Susan leaves behind her 3 children, Jeff (Maehing) Olive, Jo Ann (Adam) Nemeth, and Dan (Kelly) Campbell, her brother, Jeff Raymond, 7 grandchildren, Lauren (Jason) Williams, Leigh Anne Webb, Matthew Olive, Alisa Olive, James Olive, Braxton Campbell, Ryzen Campbell and 3 great-grandchildren, Jade Webb, Dalton Williams, and Parker Williams. She was forged in strength and resilience by her late parents, Thelma Wilhelmia Roesler and Willard Nesbit Raymond and was predeceased by her brother, Steve Raymond and her lifelong friend/"sister" Judith (Wendt) Christiansen.
She lived most of her life in Racine, WI, graduating from Washington Park High School and afterward acquiring her WI state license in cosmetology, and worked as a receptionist at Windsor Dental for several years. She was a dedicated loving mother and after raising her children in Racine, she moved to Rhinelander, WI and owned/operated a 3-cabin resort on Boom Lake. She most enjoyed her time visiting and traveling with her special group of friends and her annual SC trips to see her children and grandchildren. She also loved sewing, golfing, skiing, fishing, and gardening, growing giant Lilac bushes still growing on Lilac Lane, as well as her Lilies she carried with her and replanted over 50 years at each home she lived in. Her humor and spirit will continue in the hearts of her family, friends and those whose lives she touched.
