Susan Ashby Nichols, born on November 8, 1940, passed away on September 4, 2025.  Her spouse, Thomas Daniel Nichols, passed in 2012.

Her children, Emily Nichols, Craig Nichols, Sarah Johnson, and David Nichols survive her. Susan has two surviving siblings, Michael Fechner and Billie Miller. Her grandchildren are Kian, Karek, Kaleah, Aurora, Daniel, Adam, Elizabeth and Merlin. Her family, alongside many friends, will carry Susan’s memory.

Susan was married in 1970 for time and all eternity, and lived a military lifestyle with her spouse and children. This included traveling and living abroad until he retired in 1977. Each child was born in a different place, including one born in Turkey and one born in England. Her career was in elementary education, teaching grades 1-3. She was an accomplished educator. Before returning to teaching, she spent her time as a full time mother.

Susan's retirement was filled with working in the temple(for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints), spending time with family and pursuing her musical interests. She passed away in the family home where she raised her children. She will be dearly missed.
