Susan (Sue) Murphree Mikson

Sue passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2022. She was 65 years old, the second daughter of Henry Bernard Scott Murphree and Dorothy Simmons Murphree, both also deceased.

Sue is survived by her spouse Scott; his two children, Gabriella and Scott Jr. Plus a sister, Julie Riley; and a brother, Jefferson Murphree; a daughter, Allie Huylebroeck with her two children (Sue’s grandchildren), Braxtynne and Braidynne Kahalioumi.

Sue was a resident of Union Beach, NJ at the time of her death. She had previously been a long time resident of Keyport, NJ. Sue had lived in Magog, Quebec, Canada when she was married to her first husband Paul Huylebroeck, the father of her daughter Allie.

Sue had a passion for teaching since she attended high school, particularly for pre-school and handicapped children. When she went to college she received two teaching certificates with her B.A. upon her graduation from Kean College in NJ. Several years later she went back to school at St. Mary’s College in MI. There she received her Masters in Education.

Anyone who knew Sue, or just came into contact with her, knew she had a heart of gold. She would do anything or be present for anyone anytime possible. Family and friends all miss her dearly.
