December 12, 1942 – November 29, 2024
Susan Mills, age 81, of Granbury, Texas, passed away on November 29, 2024 . She was the daughter of Phyllis and Dan Crowell.
Susan is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard “Dick” Mills, and their three children: daughters Tomi Mills and Jamie McKenzie, and son Brett Mills. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, her brothers Pete and Danny Crowell, her sister Mical Ghorashi, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Susan was known for her practicality and her knack for finding a bargain. She approached life with resourcefulness and resilience, always striving to make the most of what she had. She always had a “ full” pantry and shared her abundance with anyone who stopped by.
Susan loved her dogs. They were her loyal companions all throughout her life. She is survived by her “ baby” Patti Flower.
Along with her dogs she nurtured her plants. She always had cuttings to give away and flowers blooming somewhere around the house and yard. She smelled of jasmine from her favorite perfume Shalimar.
Susan touched many lives through swim lessons, Bible studies and volunteer work. She served as a missionary in Guatemala and also went on many mission trips as well as donating to various nonprofit organizations around the world.
In lieu of flowers Susan would rather a donation be made to the nonprofit organization Kids Inspiring Kids @ www.kidsinspiringkids.org. She sat on the board of directors for 20 years.
