Susan's obituary

Susan Marie McCutcheon, 74, of Worthington, OH, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on July 29, 1951 in Durham, NC to the late Leslie McLean and Irene McLean, Susan, known lovingly as “Susie,” lived a life defined by fierce devotion, unwavering honesty, and a love so powerful it touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She lived her life first and foremost as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—a role she cherished above all else. Her children were always her priority, and through every season of life, she remained their steady, dependable rock. Her strength, honesty, and unwavering presence gave her family a foundation they could always count on.

She was a woman who spoke her mind and stood firmly in her truth. She didn’t believe in sugarcoating her words and never hesitated to stand up for herself or for the people she loved. She wasn’t one to put up with anything less than what she felt was right, and while her presence could be strong and ever-present, it was simply her way of loving deeply—and it is that constant care and involvement that will be missed most.

As the oldest of six children, she shared a special bond with her siblings and played a meaningful role in helping raise them. That early sense of responsibility helped shape the protective, devoted, and steadfast person she became throughout her life.

Although she was strong and passionate, she also had an incredible sense of humor. She knew how to laugh, how to have fun, and how to bring joy to those around her, creating moments her family will forever cherish.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her career with Southwest Airlines. She remained deeply dedicated to the company and truly loved being part of something that meant so much to her, finding both purpose and pride in her work.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie McLean and Irene McLean, and her sister, Patricia McLean.

She is survived by her children, Brian McCutcheon, Jeremy McCutcheon, and Laura Bell; her siblings, Catherine McLean, Robert McLean, Mary Chapman, and Margaret Morand; as well as her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry her love and memory forward.

She leaves behind a legacy of strength, honesty, and deep devotion to her family. Her influence will continue to be felt in the lives of those she loved, and in the many memories they will carry with them always.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday May 23 at 1:00pm at Grace Avenue United Methodist Church in Frisco, Tx.
