Susan's obituary

Obituary for Susan Marie Peterson

August 22, 1955 – October 28, 2025

Susan Marie Peterson, 70, of Springville, California, passed away peacefully at her home on October 28, 2025.

Susan was born on August 22, 1955, in Long Beach, California. She was blessed with three children from her first marriage: Ursula Pappis, Vanessa Perez, and Joseph Ulloa.

In May of 1997, Susan married the love of her life, Gary Lee Peterson, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Together, they shared many adventures—owning and operating a long-haul trucking company Paradise Express.

At the end of 2001, Susan and Gary decided to settle down in the community of Springville. In early 2002, they founded Paradise Honey Farms, proudly serving Springville, the Sequoia National Forest, Porterville, the greater parts of Tulare County, and managing multiple farming operations across Nebraska and California.

Susan was known for her warm spirit, love of the outdoors, and dedication to her bees. She enjoyed gardening, caring for her dogs, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Her kind heart and vibrant personality touched the lives of everyone who knew her.

Susan is survived by her children: Ursula Pappis, Vanessa Perez, and Joseph Ulloa; Grandchildren: Brianna Ulloa, Harvey Navarro, Eddie Pacheco, Vincent Rotella, Victor Navarro, and Rachel Navarro. Stepchildren: Tami Peterson, Chari Peterson, Kristi Brazda, and Mindy Roth. Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Gary Lee Peterson, and her parents Warren and Nora (Inez) Barger.

No services will be held at this time. The family asks that those wishing to honor Susan’s memory do so by spending time in nature or planting something beautiful in her memory—just as she would have loved.
