Susan's obituary
Susan Golden Majors, a beloved resident of Birmingham, AL, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Town Village. She was born on April 13, 1955, in Brundidge, AL, to Clarence LaDon Golden and Zadie Frances Golden (Jernigan).
Susan grew up alongside her siblings Anne Borman, William (Bill) Golden, and John Golden. She attended Auburn University for pre-nursing before transferring to UAB, where she finished her degree and went on to earn a Masters in the field. Susan married Tommy Majors and together they built a life filled with their love, children, and cherished memories.
Professionally, Susan excelled as an Electronic Medical Record Clinical Trainer, demonstrating her dedication to healthcare and education. Beyond her career, Susan found joy in various activities, including playing cards, spending time with her family - particularly her grandsons George and Charlie - and enjoying the serene beauty of Lake Martin. She also had a fondness for watching Hallmark Movies and Murder She Wrote.
A devout Christian, Susan found strength and comfort in her faith throughout her life's journey.
Susan is survived by her children James Majors and his wife Tabitha of Atlanta, GA, and Clair Majors of Birmingham, AL. She was a loving grandmother to George and Charlie. Susan is also survived by her siblings Anne Borman (Dave), Bill Golden (Cindy), and John Golden (Terri).
Susan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tommy Majors, who passed away on May 6, 2022.
Susan Golden Majors will be remembered for her sense of humor, kindness, and loyalty. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace, reunited with her beloved husband for eternity.
A memorial service to celebrate Susan's life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at the Vestavia Hills Baptist Church Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider a donation in her honor to your church's mission outreach or your favorite charity.
