Susan's obituary
Susan Lee Johnson, age 64, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her children and her beloved dog, Bailey. Diagnosed with stage four cancer in September 2024, Susan faced her battle with courage and unwavering faith until the Lord called her home.
Susan was the loving mother of Josh, Jon (Celine), and Kristina, and the proud grandmother of Miles, Annalyssa, Aidan, Alex, Silas, and Grace. While her absence will be deeply felt, she will forever be remembered for the love she poured into her family, the laughter she shared, and the lessons she taught.
Susan’s faith in the Lord was the foundation of her life. She shared His word with those around her and found comfort in knowing her final resting place is in heaven, reunited with her parents and nephew Kevin.
Born and raised in Harper Woods, Michigan, Susan later settled in Traverse City to raise her children. She juggled the demands of motherhood while working full-time and earning her nursing degree—a testament to her determination and grit. Her passion for helping others led her to start her own case management business, serve in medical and Christian mission work overseas, and touch countless lives.
An adventurous spirit, Susan embraced life to the fullest. She loved to travel, especially cruises, and spent her last decade in Florida soaking up the sun, boating, shelling, thrifting, flipping homes, and sharing her talents with others. Her days were filled with laughter, creativity, and a deep love for her family and friends.
Those who knew Susan will remember her as strong, compassionate, joyful, and at times mischievous. She lived with a generous heart, a creative spark, and a faith that never wavered.
A celebration of Susan’s life will be held on June 14, 2025, at Living Hope Church in Traverse City, MI. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon at 12:00 p.m.. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared at https://everloved.com/life-of….
