I am so sorry to hear of Susan's passing, but I know she is in Heaven with her Lord & Savior & no longer in pain. We spent many, many weekends at the campground making lots of memories with Susan. We got really close to her over the years & she became like family to us. Susan was a very special person & she will always have a special place in our hearts. We loved her like family. Camping at the campground will not be the same, but her legacy & love for people will be carried on by family. Fly high beloved friend. Gone but will never be forgotten. We love you my friend. Fly High our beautiful Angel.

My heart goes out to Katherine and the entire family during this incredibly difficult time. Susan was such a strong and remarkable person.  You are all in my thoughts and prayers.
My most sincere condolences go out to her mother, Katherine and her children, Luke, Matt and Jeff. Susan was one of my dearest friends. Since high school, through college, marriage, careers and children, we stayed in touch. She was the kind of friend you could go months without talking to but pick right up where you left off and talk for hours. We went to so many concerts, camping, parties and - as we got older - just hanging out at the campground, by the pool or talking on the phone. Susan was always ready with a smile, a big hug, and a ton of tales to tell. I counted her as one of my best friends and I can't express how much I will miss her. "You know our love will not fade away."

I've always admired by aunt since I was a little girl when I lived with Pop Pop and Kat for a year when I was 8.  Susan was about 17 at the time; beautiful, confident, spunky, and such a cool sense of dress/fashion.  Perhaps a little infatuated, I went into her room and read her diary one day.  When she found out about it, she confronted me and poured a coke over my head in retaliation for getting into her things.  We grew much closer during the years that she owned the campground.  My family and friends spent many weekends at Middle Creek Campground fishing, singing karaoke, playing games, swimming, riding golf carts dirt bikes with our cousins.  My boys especially loved to go to the store first thing in the morning to get some of Susan's sausage gravy and biscuits and orange sherbet for dessert.  To this day, we've never found any sausage and gravy biscuit as good as hers.  We have many great memories of the time we spent at the campground. And Susan kept that super vibrant, spunky personality every day that I spent with her even until the last day I saw her at Pop Pops funeral.  I miss her greatly, but I am glad she finally has peace and is walking with our Lord in Heaven.  XOXOXO
So sorry to hear about Susan’s passing. Such a sweet soul when I knew her. I will cherish the memories of her.
Susan was the best friend anyone could have ever asked for. We shared so many memories from playing basketball to parties and lots of mischief.  I spent countless nights at her house, hung out at the pool with her in the summer, went on our senior trip to Myrtle Beach, and so many fun adventures that we barely survived. Two years ago I met Susan for lunch and she was wearing a tie dyed dress/top that was so cute and I asked where she got it. I was getting ready to go to Hawaii a few weeks later and thought it would be cute to wear on my trip.  When we were leaving the restaurant, I stopped at the restroom and when I got to my car, she left the dress hanging on my door. When I called her about leaving the dress on my car, she said she thought it should go to Hawaii with me. I will always treasure that gift from her.

So sorry to hear this sad news! I met Susan many years ago during our MBA program. She was the sweetest and youngest amongst our group, with a beautiful smile and intellect.  She will be missed. I am praying that loving memories will bring some comfort to Susan's family and every who knew & cared for her ❤️
I met Susan at church. She always had a smile even when she didn't  feel good. We discussed her going home and she was ready  just didn't want to leave her family. Prayers for the family at this time. So sad to hear of her passing, but rejoicing that she is safe with her Saviour Jesus Christ and free of pain.  We will spend eternity together. To God be the glory.
So sorry to hear of Susan's passing.  I was in her MBA class many years ago and have wonderful memories of those years together with our small group.  My condolences to her family as I know she will be greatly missed.  Nancy Hietala.
Susan was so very special to me and she was such a blessing. I thought of her as an adopted daughter and Gerald and loved her very much. She always had that beautiful smile, even when she didn't feel like smiling. What an amazing young lady and an inspiration as well. Now she is with her Heavenly Father and singing her praises to Him.
Prayers for each of you now and through the days and weeks ahead.

We've known Susan since our kids went to Cave Spring together & the Elks Swim team. Her Mom has been a dear friend back in the day when we were in a craft group called Holly Daze. When Susan got married, I helped her Mom with decorations for the reception. When Susan moved to the campground, we had to check it out. We've been avid campers for years. Even our son Derek camped there about a year ago. Susan was a sweet, caring and very special young women who will be missed, but never forgotten.
