Susan's obituary
Susan Lambert Julian
With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Susan Lambert Julian, who left this world peacefully from cancer on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at the age of 70, with her beloved son, Jason Julian, by her side.
Born on December 28, 1954, Susan lived a life marked by compassion, creativity, and quiet strength. She had a deep and abiding love for the arts—whether painting, music, or any other form of creative expression—and believed in the power of creativity to heal, inspire, and bring people together. Her home was always filled with beauty and expression, a reflection of her artistic soul.
Susan also had a profound love for animals and cared deeply for all living creatures. Her kindness extended to all, and her nurturing spirit left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know her.
She spent many of her golden years in Hermiston, Wallowa, and Roseburg, Oregon. She loved going on long walks by the river, surrounded by the Blue Mountains. She looked forward to sister shopping trips and eating her favorite chile relleno at different restaurants. Planting and arranging flowers to beautify her living spaces brought her great joy. Jengawas her game!
Susan’s most beautiful gift was her ability to make friends easily wherever she went. Whether it was a stranger in line at the store or a neighbor she’d just met, she had a way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. Her warmth, authenticity, giggle, and gentle humor made her instantly beloved by many.
She is survived by her devoted children:
Jason (Hillary) Julian
April (Thomas) Gardiner
Crystal (Ryan) Petersen
Her loving sisters:
Jerri (Jeff) Coletti
Jill (Andrew) Pettersson
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved her deeply.
Susan was preceded in death by:
Sonya Fry (Con Fry)
H. Reed Lambert
Diana Lambert
Steven Lambert
Michael (Maureen) Miller
Michelle (Joe) Miller Tomaselli

Susan was the heart of her family, showing them how to love and providing steady encouragement through all of life’s trials. She had a deep faith in her Heavenly Father and His son, Jesus Christ, which brought her peace and healing in her final months. Many prayers were said around the dinner table, holding hands with her dear friend, Gil.
One of her favorite church callings was teaching young children to sing—something that brought her immense joy.
Friends and loved ones are invited to gather in remembrance of the beautiful life Susan lived and the love she shared so freely. In her honor, always remember to say “I love you” to those you care for.
There will be a private spreading of her ashes. Please contact the family for details.
The family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, assisted living aides, and hospice staff who lovingly cared for Susan.
Susan Lambert Julian will always be remembered for her loving spirit, her creative soul, her deep compassion—for animals and people alike—and her remarkable ability to make every space feel like home.
"Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us every day—unseen, unheard, but always there. Still loved, still missed, forever dear."
Until we meet again… We love you, Susan.
