Background
In Loving Memory of Susan Johnston: Honoring Her Legacy Through Giving
On June 4, 2025, we said goodbye to Susan Johnston—beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. After a long and courageous battle with chronic pain and health complications, Susan passed peacefully, surrounded by her family. Though our hearts are heavy, we are comforted by the legacy she leaves behind: one of kindness, creativity, humor, and unwavering love.
Susan was a resident at Friendship Village Sunset Hills, where she received thoughtful, compassionate care from a dedicated team of staff members. In honor of Susan’s life and spirit, please consider making a donation to the Friendship Village Sunset Hills Employee Christmas Fund—a special initiative that brings holiday cheer and heartfelt appreciation to the staff who give so much to others, every day.
This donation is not only a way to say thank you to those who cared for Susan with such grace, but also a way to carry forward the values she held dear: generosity, warmth, and making people feel seen and valued.
If you were touched by Susan’s life, or simply want to honor the caregivers who show up with compassion every day, we invite you to give whatever you'd like. Every contribution will go directly to the Employee Christmas Fund and help bring joy to the hardworking team at Friendship Village Sunset Hills this holiday season.
Let’s celebrate Susan’s beautiful legacy by lifting others—just as she always did.
With love and gratitude,
The Family of Susan Johnston
