SUSAN HERSHEY CELEBRATION & MEMORIAL IN NYC

On February 18, 2023, we had a lovely Celebration & Memorial event for my Mom yesterday in New York. My best friend from 5th grade, Paul, flew in from LA to be there and to sing. My college friend Marty Shore took the bus up from DC and shared very moving remarks about coming to know Susan on Facebook.  Felicia (Patsy D. Cline) and Bob Brophy brought a sound system and Felicia lent her heart-filled song bird voice to Angel from Montgomery and Tell Me Why the Stars Do Shine.  Melissa C. Alonso recalled our childhood days growing up in the People’s Republic of Cambridge.  Amy J. Schwartz and Lilly Hershey-Webb spoke soulfully of Susan. Friends came from all walks of life, law partners, politic club friends, old friends, new friends. (I shudder to think there’s someone reading this who we overlooked with our invites.…all I can say is: we’ll do it again!)

Maria Bonita catering brought yummy Mexican food.

Susan was there. You could feel her.  One guest told me that the event made her feel so good.  Mom would have loved that.

I made a few poster boards of photos and am sharing them here. (There is one photo that is not Susan, but a friend of hers..my bad!)

I finally found a room, in a church near our apartment, where I can hold a concert. Look for a date soon!!

For Susan Hershey’s Rockport and Cambridge friends we’ll be having another gathering in May in Rockport.
