Susan's obituary
Susan, Jane Donatelli (Mandel) (Modler)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Susie on February 25, 2022 in Aventura, Miami Florida, Susie was diagnosed with lung cancer in early February and passed away just a few weeks later. God didn't want her to suffer. Susie was born in Toronto, Canada to parents George & Ann Modler. She had 2 sisters, Bonnie (deceased) and Patricia (deceased). She married Gerald Mandel (deceased) and had 2 stepdaughters - Gaye (Chris) and step grandson Seth, Kara (her 9 children). She is survived by her husband Robert Donatelli and her step-children Jason(Jennifer), Doug, Danielle(Jim) and their children. She is also survived by her brother-in-law George Prior (Cathy) and her nephews Scott (Jany), Steve (Denise) and her niece Debra (Pat) and all her beautiful great nephews and niece whom she loved very much.
She also had many, many good friends from all over the world that loved her dearly. She will be missed terribly by her best friends she has known forever Kathyrn Chesler and Janice and Barry Block.
Susie was born in Canada and loved coming for Thanksgiving every year to see her family. It was a tradition right up to the end.
She loved her dogs (standard poodles and little GG). She was a skier, loved to golf, read and was lucky enough to travel to many places around the world where she met many of her good friends.
She was a kind, generous and compassionate woman. Anyone that met her fell in love with her. Having Susie in our lives was a blessing.
Susie's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that stayed here. Susie was an organ donor and was able to donate her beautiful eyes.
Susie didn't want a funeral but there will be a Celebration of Life on May 7, 2022 in Campbellville, Ontario for family and friends. Anyone wishing to leave their condolences for the family may leave it at debrahaggart@sympatico.ca.
Cremation took place on March 7, 2022.
Our family in Canada would like thank Janice & Barry Block and Kathyrn Chesler for always being there for Susie when we couldn't get there.
"Goodbyes are not forever
Goodbyes are not the end
They simply mean I'll miss you.
until we meet again."
