Susan's obituary
Susan Lee Woolley Demory 1954~2022 Our loving mother, grandmother, wife, and friend Susan, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at her home in Laguna Hills, CA surrounded by her loving family, after a long, hard fought battle with autoimmune cirrhosis of the liver.
Susan was born in Salt Lake City, UT on August 27, 1954 to Robert Christensen Woolley and Alice Dorothy Simpson. Susan graduated from the famous East High in Salt Lake City, UT in 1972 and went on to study at the University of Utah focusing on health care.
Susan married her first husband, Steven Richards, in 1974 in Salt Lake City, UT and later divorced. Susan and Steven had four boys, Robert, Jayson, Russell, and Michael. Susan and her family moved to Lakewood, CO in 1984 where she worked at Bear Creek Elementary School in the preschool and kindergarten programs. Susan loved working with the children and was known for creating the best bulletin boards in the school. In 1990, Susan and her family moved to Southern California where she was able to pursue a career in customer service. Susan was a people person and loved helping others. She was able to share her love of people with several companies including NordicTrack, Mervyns, and Tamiya America. While in California, Susan pursued her love of acting and was able to be featured in a few commercials including Maytag and 31 Flavors.
While at Tamiya America, Susan met the love of her life, Gary Demory. Gary and Susan married in 2002 and enjoyed 20 beautiful years of marriage.
In her free time, Susan enjoyed creating art, doing crafts, traveling, pets and especially loved her time with her grandkids. A few of Susan’s favorite places were Disneyland and the beach. Those places became even more special when surrounded by those she loved. She had a passion for cooking and had several great dishes which have been passed down from generations.
Susan is survived by her husband Gary Demory; children Robert and Masha Richards, Jayson Richards and Christina Feagans , Russell and Andalin Richards, and Michael Richards and Kristin Bolda; grandchildren Mila, Logan, and Alyona; sister-in-law Lana Averett; niece Allison Westenskow.
Susan was preceded by her parents Robert and Alice and brother Tom.
Graveside Services will be held at Salt Lake City Cemetery on June 17, 2023 at 12:00 pm
