Susan's obituary
Susan Vivian Blomquist, 56, fell asleep in death on February 14, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
Susie was born on November 13, 1968 in Davenport, Iowa to Daniel VanWinkle and Sharon Florence. She was one of seven siblings. She is survived by her husband Benjamin, son Ethan (Beth), daughter Abigail, grandson Alden, and a large group of extended family and friends.
Susie married Ben on October 31st, 1987. They went on to have their first child and build a house in 1994 in Franklin, WI. This is where they continued to live and build their life together.
Susie loved to be active and travel. Her children have fond memories biking, kayaking, and dancing as a family. She considered herself a “foodie” and loved enjoying good food and drinks with family and friends. She had a real eye for design and had the gift of turning a party into an extravagant event. She was always on top of the latest fashions and the best dressed in the room.
Susie was a devoted and loving mother and friend to many. She was very hospitable. She was always thinking of others, giving them thoughtful gifts or support during different events in their life. She loved children, always happy to play games and talk with her nieces and nephews. She had a gift for drawing people in and making them feel loved and part of the family.
Susie was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1983 and found great joy in sharing Bible truth with others and talking about Jehovah’s creation with her grandson. Her deeply held hope for the future is to enjoy healthy, perfect, everlasting life with her family and friends.
