Sue's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Sue Ellen Thacker. Sue passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with kidney disease On Dec 12th 2025.

Born to Paul and Tina Hilyard, Sue grew up to become a loving mother and devoted wife. After graduating from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1969, she embarked on a journey that would touch many lives.

Sue was blessed with two wonderful children from her marriage to her first husband, Charles Blevins II. She cherished her role as a mother and homemaker. Later, she found love again with Roy Thacker, sharing many beautiful years together until his passing.

Her professional career included dedicated service at Ohio Operating Engineers where she worked with microfilm technology until her retirement in 2009.

A woman of deep faith, Sue was an active Christian throughout her life, encouraging others to follow in her spiritual footsteps. She expressed her creativity through sewing and baking in her younger years, later finding joy in creating seasonal arts and crafts for holidays to share with those she loved.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Tina Hilyard; her husband, Roy Thacker; and her brother, Timothy Hilyard.

She leaves behind her loving children: Charles R. Blevins III and Eric L. Blevins and his wife Sheri; her cherished grandchildren: Codi L. Blevins, Corianne N. Cleaver, Daniel and Madison Blevins, Anna Blevins, Charles Blevins, Russel Blevins, Cheyenne Blevins, and Benjamin Blevins; and her adored great-grandchildren: Elias N. Spencer and Silas R. Spencer. She is also survived by her siblings: Sandy Patrick, Paul Hilyard, Lolita Fraizer, Mary Hughes, Cheryl Kessler, Cathy Martin, and Joy Carpenter.

A celebration of Sue's life will be held at Worthington Christian Church, 8145 N. High St., Columbus, OH 43235 on January 10th 2026, Visiting at 9am and Celebration of Life Service at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Worthington Christian Church and/or the National Kidney Foundation in Sue's honor.
