Sue's obituary
Sue Brown Driskill passed away peacefully on January 26, 2025. Born on October 15, 1940, Sue was a woman of many things: daughter, mother, friend, philanthropist and community advocate. Known fondly as "Nana" to her 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her dynamic personality was a blend of warmth, humor, kindness and a contagious spirit of giving. Bubbly, silly and always with a smile on her face, Sue was the kind of person who would do anything for anyone. She held a heart filled with an immeasurable amount of generosity and love.
Some of Sue's significant accomplishments included the empowering task of raising four children as a single parent. Her children, Doug Driskill, Diane Valdez, Dwight Driskill and Ray Driskill, were a source of enormous pride and joy. They survive her alongside a legacy filled with precious family moments and teachings of resilience and strength.
Community service occupied a significant portion of Sue's heart. She was deeply involved for 25+ years with her philanthropic sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA), and was passionate about making a positive difference in her community. As an ardent supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Sue dedicated her energy into fundraising and advocating for children's health.
The legacy Sue leaves behind is significant and unmatched. Through her service in the ESA organization and her relentless efforts in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, she has made an irreversible impact on numerous lives. Her memory will forever be embedded in the countless acts of kindness, the close and meaningful friendships she made along the way in her involvement with ESA, and the deep love and support she had for her children and grandchildren.
Sue's tender heart, bright smile, and her passion to serve will be remembered and dearly missed by her family, friends and those whose lives she touched. Her lasting presence will endure through the love and the formidable legacy she leaves behind.
