Su Cha's obituary

Su Cha Nicolosi, of Redwood City, California, loving and devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother, peacefully passed away at home at the age of 79 on Monday, October 31, 2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Born to Jae Su Ha and Sang Tal So in 1943 in Chinju, Korea, she was the sixth of eight children. She and her family survived the Korean War and in 1969, while working in a restaurant in Kwangju, South Korea, she met and fell in love with a United States Air Force Airman, Claudio Nicolosi. They married and she boldly moved from everything she knew to the United States for love. They were married for over 53 years and had four daughters: Christina, Danielle, Lisa and Elizabeth. She was a devoted mother who raised her four children as they lived and had adventures all over the world, from San Francisco, California to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and back again. Su Cha was a devout Catholic and she dedicated decades of her life volunteering at St. Luke Catholic Church in Foster City where she organized the packing of thousands of lunches for those in need and helping in the parish as she was needed. As her children grew older, her love for fashion and her independent spirit lead her to open her own clothing store, Pazazz Unlimited. Su Cha loved Christmas, angels, travel, gardening, feeding those who walked through her door and putting jigsaw puzzles together (especially at Christmas time). And she never met a slot machine she didn't like. She was a patient and loving grandmother to her seven beautiful grandchildren: Nicolas (Cole), Blake, Avin, Preston, Jade, Ruby and Slater.

She is survived by her beloved husband, her four daughters, two of her sisters, her sister-in-law and her seven grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Su Cha on Saturday, November 12th at 10:30 am at St. Pius Catholic Church in Redwood City, California. In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the St. Luke Catholic Church in Foster City Sandwiches on Sunday/ Skip-a-Meal Program.
