I have had the pleasure of working with Stuart for the last few years at BFUHS.  His contributions to this community are immeasurable.  My deepest condolences to all his family and friends.

I am terribly sorry and sad about the passing of this wonderful man. Jacob, I knew you when you were born and am sad for you and your wonderful mom Regina. Zara, I grieve for you in facing this sudden loss. To Julie and your lovely children that you shared and who I only met once, I offer you my deepest sorrows, as I do for all of your you who loved him. And although his life wasn’t as long as would have been ideal, we should all take comfort in the certainty of how fun, rich and filled with love that it was.
So I’m walking down Rt. 32 by the college one day. I had just started. I see this guy cheerfully picking up trash from the side of the road. I was delighted about it, and I let him know. We started talking and whatnot and we hung out up in a tree for a while. That’s the day I met Stu.

Stu was an unwavering friend to very many, and I am proud to say I was one of his friends for a long time….from our first days at college at New Paltz as teens, all the way through to his passing. He had a profound influence on me and he is dearly missed. There were many things he did I tried to emulate, like his ability to celebrate in style and draw people together, which he did so wonderfully for his 50th birthday party. I modeled my own 50th party later that same year on many of the things he did right at his, and he went above and beyond for me, setting up a Photo Booth along with plenty of hats and assorted props. I don’t have any photos from the old days, but here are a few photos from my own party in November of 2019, which he traveled quite far for, enjoyed very much, and elevated the experience for everyone, something he seemed to do everywhere he went.
