Stu's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Stuart "Stu" Harris, a vibrant and unique individual who touched the lives of many. Stu was born on March 4, 1947, and left us too soon on November 6, 2023. His spirit, humor, and eclectic personality will be deeply missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Stu was a proud alumnus of Austin High School, from where he graduated in 1965. In 1969, he committed his services to his country as an Army Reservist. Despite the demands of his duty, Stu always found time to appreciate the lighter side of life. He was an ardent fan of The Three Stooges', found joy in playing games like Yahtzee, and cherished time spent at local spots such as Gene and Jude's or Sportsman’s Park. He also found solace in vacationing in the lively city of Las Vegas.
Stu was beloved by his family. He is survived by his step-son Jonathan Saucedo, son Joel Saucedo, daughter-in-law Yukie Saucedo, granddaughter Jessica Saucedo, son-in-law Anthony Doretti, and grandson Steven Saucedo. His former Sister-in-Law Sharon Korovesis has many fond memories of Stu as he became part of the family back in the good old Austin days. Go Tigers! He is also survived by his ex-wife, Christine Saucedo. Stu was predeceased by his mother, Birdie Harris, and former in-laws, John and Jennie Korovesis. Notably, one of his greatest accomplishments was being a doting grandfather to both his first and second family of grandchildren, helmed by his formidable and dedicated elderly special companion turned beloved wife, Ellen, and her son Edward, along with their beloved grandchildren. Just as we were fortunate to have known him, so are these two families he found a way to bridge.
Stu was a man characterized by his intelligence, eccentricity, and laughter. His passion for life was evident in his favorite cause, Pets, to which he devoted much of his time and resources. These qualities, alongside his love for his family, have left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Although Stu’s journey on Earth has come to an end, his memory will continue to live on within those he left behind. May we all remember Stu for the joy he brought into our lives, and strive to keep his spirit alive in our hearts.
