Steven's obituary

Steven Wayne Williams

June 19, 1953 - November 24, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Wayne Williams, who departed from this world on November 24, 2023. He left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and enduring memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

Born on June 19, 1953 in Northville, Michigan, Steve graduated from Plymouth High School in the class of 1971. Throughout his life, Steve resided in Plymouth and Northville, Michigan, Dallas and Houston, Texas, Coconut Creek, Florida, New Carlisle and Springfield, Ohio. While living in Dallas, Texas, Steve met the love of his life, Kelly, and they married in 1985.

One of the biggest joys of Steve’s life was his four children: Karleen (Ron), Matthew (Kristin), Daniel and Kathryn (Cody); as well as, his six grandchildren: Brayden, Ella, Eleanor, Connor, Hudson and Myla.

A devoted father, husband and friend, Steve cherished the bonds of family and friendship above all else. While he was a salesman by trade, his true vocation was spreading joy and warmth to everyone he encountered. Whether he was golfing, watching Michigan football, singing and dancing, volunteering in his community and church, or bringing people together for social gatherings, his enthusiasm for life could not be ignored and he brought laughter and joy to all those who spent time in his company. His love and his faith knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a circle of grieving loved ones who will forever be grateful for the time they spent with him.

Steve’s journey was marked by resilience and a zest for life that inspired all who had the privilege of sharing moments with him. Diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2010, he faced its challenges with incredible grace. Steve found strength and humor throughout his adversity and taught those around him the true meaning of perseverance and faith. Even in death, Steve’s impact on others isn’t finished as he chose to donate his body to science in an effort to help advance the research into Parkinson's with the hope that one day no one else will have to battle this disease.

We would love to honor Steve by joining together in commemorating a life lived to the fullest and bidding farewell to a remarkable husband, dad and friend who will be dearly missed but never forgotten. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us for a Celebration of Life on December 30th, 2023 in the Northville/Plymouth, MI area. The exact venue and time are still being planned and will be updated here soon.

May his soul find eternal peace, singing Beatles songs with Jesus in Heaven, and may the memories we shared with him bring comfort during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation or Trilogy Health Services in honor of Steve. The Michael J. Fox Foundation is a non-profit that has a strong focus on Parkinson’s disease research. Steve and his family would love to be able to take part in providing resources for scientists to continue the work needed to find a cure for this disease. Trilogy Health Services is the parent company for Forest Glen Health Campus where Steve spent the last three years of his life. Steve’s family is eternally grateful for the level of love and care given to Steve during that time.
