Steven's obituary

Steven Sissman, 75 years of age, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025, at his home in Zebulon, North Carolina.

Steve was born on June 10 in Englewood, New Jersey, to the late Aaron Sissman and Theresa Canter Sissman. He spent his childhood years in Cliffside Park, NJ, attended Stevens Academy, and graduated from Jersey City State College. He found his way to the Jersey Shore and enjoyed living near the water. He traveled several times to Hawaii, where he fell in love with the aloha culture that shaped his low key and friendly nature. In recent years, Steve followed his family to Charleston, SC and later settled in Zebulon, NC close to his sister and niece.

Steve had a passion for restoring classic cars, F1 and NASCAR racing, boating, and cooking fantastic meals that he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Some of his specialties were Thanksgiving turkey, CCQ, and his nana’s apple cake.

He was a loving and caring person. Steve spent time weekly with his sister, Marcie Vedelli, cooking, sharing stories, and playing cards. While he did not have children of his own, he was a devoted uncle to his nephew, Jonathan Vedelli, and niece, Jodi Vedelli, and their families, Nicole Vedelli, Jordan Vedelli, Kylie Vedelli, and Rafael Torres.

Steve was an avid donor to the Food Bank of North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation to any food bank in your local community to support those in need.
