Steven's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven ‘Scot’ Carter, who left us on August 19, 2024. Known as Scot, he was born on July 21, 1960 in Mobile, Alabama.
Scot is survived by his daughter, Kayla L. Carter and his son, Kyle L. Carter, as well as his sisters, Donna K. Stratton and Carla M. Dazet. Scot was predeceased by his father, Roy C. Carter, his mother, Dorothy F. Carter, and his brother, Kelvin ‘Kell’ L. Carter.
Scot was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving as a Meterologist and Oceanographer. He could often be found singing, loudly, along to the melodious tunes of his favorite musician, Elton John. Another passion included expressing his pride and support for his favorite football team, the New Orleans Saints.
Scot had a deep admiration for the great outdoors and loved to spend his free time immersed in nature, finding peace and contentment in activities such as fishing and hunting. His enthusiasm for learning led him to spend countless hours reading. He had a soft spot for civil war sites with a great interest in history, and as a result had immense knowledge on the subject. Scot had an inherited talent for cooking and loved spending his free time creating dishes for others.
His departure from this realm leaves us all with precious memories of his life and he will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
