Steven's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Steven Micheal Runge, age 72, of Edmond Oklahoma. He  passed away on Monday, November 17th 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

Steven was born on April 26th, 1953 in Hebron, Nebraska to Frank and Dorothy Runge. He grew up in Hebron, Nebraska working on his family farm, and later settled in Edmond, Oklahoma, where he spent his life building a loving family and a community of friends.

Steven worked as a IT computer programmer for 50 years, and was known for his dedication, honesty, kindness to coworkers, and his strong work ethic.  Outside of work, he enjoyed, fishing, being outdoors at the lake, music, sports, mainly football (go huskers!), mastering his grilling skills, and spending as much free time as he could being with his family.

Above all,  Steven loved and adored his family. He will be remembered for his one of a kind loud contagious laugh, his gentle spirit, his puns and best dad jokes there ever was, all the love and knowledge he passed down, and for the love he had for his three daughters, son in law, and six grandchildren was insurmountable and never ending.

Steven is survived by his children, Johnna Runge, Josie West, Jaime Runge;  six grandchildren, Samuel Ports, Braedon McGrath, Aslynn West, Kalynn McGrath, Rylee McGrath, Presley West; as well as  cousins and friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Dorothy Runge as well as his brother Ronald Runge, and sister Susan Runge.

Steven wishes were for a small intimate gathering of immediate family, that will take place November 27th at a private residence. At a later date (tbd) will follow a celebration of life in his hometown of Hebron, Nebraska.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to his care team, friends, coworkers, and extended family for their care and support, while we navigate through this time.
