Steve's obituary

Steven Robert Reeves, 51, of Bandera, TX returned to his Heavenly Father the morning of Thursday, February 29, 2024.

Born to Judy (Whipple) Robinson and Robert Reeves on September 7, 1972 in Salt Lake City, UT, Steve was a force of life that will always endure. He was a man of many hats – loving son, father, brother, and husband. An adventurous spirit who was an avid photographer, motorcycle enthusiast, and nature lover. Steve often spoke of boating, camping, fishing, and spending time with his family. Steve married his best friend, soulmate, and wife of 25 years, Mary, on April 5 in Cottonwood Heights, Utah.

Steve and Mary relished in their love for each other, their children, grandchildren, and lovable pups. He made sure to always tell each of his children how proud he was of them and encouraged them down their chosen path. He tried to impart his knowledge and experience to his friends and family in great measure. His passion for music was passed to each of his children with all of them recalling several specific events tied to a single song. Each song may be different, the artist performing it may be different, but the memories are all very similar and held deeply.

A towering, gentle giant of a man, Steve was always the first to make a joke, usually a well timed witty dad pun or clean “dirty” joke, and always the one to make a friend in a room of strangers. His belly laugh was contagious, especially as he regaled tales and shenanigans of his youth; why there was toilet paper and toothpaste in the ceiling of the pool room of his childhood home that his mom didn’t know about for decades. His love for chocolate chip cookies and his mom’s “creamy chicken over macaroni” was unmatched and at the awe of many.

Steve is preceded in death by his father, Robert Reeves, step-father, James Robinson, and brother-in-law, Jeff Wright.

Steve is survived by his wife, Mary; mother Judy; children Danell Reeves, Chelstiene (Abhilash) Ronur, Amanda-Mae (Karl) Peterson, Menolly Summers, James (Kiley) Summers, Caitlin (Anthony) Evans; sisters Shari (Mitch) Valle and Julie (Brad) Wright-Leggett; 13 grandchildren Krystopher, Ashlynn, Jaxson, Lydia, Paisley, Kyson, Michael, Levi, Skylin, Ayvah, Everest, Nile, and Atlas; Uncle Bill Whipple and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve lives on in the hearts of his friends and family.

“In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It is the life in your years.” Abraham Lincoln
