Steven's obituary
Steve was born on January 21st, 1953, to Paul and Kristine Mathern in
Primghar, Iowa. He achieved many trade certificates and moved between
driving trucks and working as a machinist. He later married JoAnne Webb
who gave him his only son, Paul Francis Mathern. Paul was his pride and joy
and having him as a son made him happiest in his life. He worked for M&W
manufacturing in Cedar Rapids for over 25 years and retired in 2021. Steve
passed away peacefully in his home on May 22nd
, 2023, in Mason City, Iowa.
He is preceded in death by both parents and his son Paul. He is survived by
his siblings and a few good friends, Nate and Monica. It was Steve’s wish to be
placed with his son when his time had come, may his soul rest as the two
of them are re-united
