Steven's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Ferguson. Born on October 10, 1964, Steven departed peacefully from this world on March 10, 2026.
Steven was a devoted family man, who leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience and strength. He is survived by his beloved wife, Renae Ferguson, to whom he was married since 1988. Steven's memory will forever be cherished by his children, Tyler Ferguson, Cade Ferguson, and Kendall Eckenfels. His calming spirit will live on through his granddaughter, Monroe Ferguson.
Steven was blessed to have a loving family. He is also survived by his sister, Dana Matson, his daughter-in-law, Megan Ferguson and his son-in-law, Derek Eckenfels. He was predeceased by his parents Reid and Jackie Ferguson, his brother Mike Ferguson and his sister Lori Thompson.
Born and raised in Oklahoma, Steven was a proud alumnus of Union High School. A steadfast learner and hard worker, he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University in 1987, earning his B.S. in finance. He was an ardent supporter of the Oklahoma State Cowboys and a passionate fan of Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Steven was a reserved yet caring and intelligent soul. He often found comfort and joy in watching sports, which was one of his favorite past times. His fortitude and resilience were the traits that defined him. His children treasured his wisdom and counsel, with one of his most shared lessons encapsulated in this quote by Tom Hanks: “It’s supposed to be hard. If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. The hard is what makes it great!”
Steven will be deeply missed, yet we are comforted to know that his life was filled with purpose and love. His example and words of wisdom will continue to guide us and his beauty will radiate in our hearts forever.
