Steve's obituary

Steven "Steve" Craig

April 15, 1947 – October 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Lee Craig, lovingly known as "Steve," on October 13, 2024, at the age of 77. Born on April 15, 1947, in Farmland, Indiana, to Adrian and Rose Craig, Steve grew up in a close-knit family that later relocated to Phoenix, Arizona. After graduating from Washington High School, he served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.

In 1968, Steve married Mary-Ann Yeager. Their bond was built on laughter, travel, and countless cherished memories, especially during their trips to Mexico. Their marriage, lasting until Mary-Ann’s passing in 2012, was a testament to their unwavering devotion. Together, they raised one child, Caridan Craig, whom Steve treasured deeply.

A dedicated journeyman lineman at Clark County Public Utilities, Steve was respected for his work ethic and reliability. He was beloved by many and known for his sense of humor, kindness, and resilience. His life motto, "no bad days," carried him through every challenge and inspired those around him. An avid model railroad enthusiast, Steve created intricate displays that delighted family and friends. His love for RVing took him across the country, where he embraced the joy of discovery at every stop.

Steve’s resilience shone in his personal life as well, having survived three rounds of cancer. His strength was a source of inspiration to all who knew him, and he faced each battle with courage and an unwavering positive spirit. In his final years, he lived with his beloved wife, Becky, in El Mirage, Arizona. Despite his courageous battle, Steve passed away peacefully due to leukemia, surrounded by the love of family.

Steve leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply: his son Caridan, daughter-in-law Michelle, grandchildren Theodore, Adrian, and Tilly, who were his greatest pride. He is also survived by his brother Joe Craig, sisters Robin Gordon and Rebecca Craig, his wife Becky, his stepson Ryan, and many nieces and nephews.

Steve Craig’s legacy is one of love, strength, and an indomitable spirit. His warm smile and motto of "no bad days" live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him. He will be profoundly missed, but his memory will forever guide us.
