Steven's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Steven Franco, a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. Born on March 26, 1966, Steve lived a fulfilling life, and sadly left us on June 17, 2023.
Steve is survived by his mother, Margaret Franco, his wife Connie Franco, whom he married in 2002, his daughter Ashlea Rock-Montalbano (Curtis Montalbano), his stepchildren, Taylor, Jessica, and Davis Kaufman. He is also survived by his sister Sylvia Franco-Lopez, his brother Albert Franco III, as well as their families, and his 4 grandchildren: Mary, Cecelia, Mitchell, and Jett. He was predeceased by his father, Albert Franco, Jr. in December 2010.
Steve had a penchant for trying new foods and enjoyed the soothing melodies of Journey, George Strait, classic rock and R&B. When it came time to unwind and relax, he would frequently tune into the History Channel. The road called to him, and Steve sought adventure in traveling and exploring new vacation spots, often accompanied by his beloved family and friends. This led to his career of 20+ years as a truck driver, which he was very passionate about, constantly talking about his routes, and acting as a human GPS.
Those who knew Steve could attest to his comical and easygoing nature, always making people laugh and lifting spirits. Beyond his warm personality, Steve had numerous accomplishments in his life, including serving in the United States Navy and embracing the joys of being a grandpa.
Steve had a very long battle with his health, surpassing many doctors' expectations, fighting through and continuously surprising everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories with his loved ones. We will miss his warm presence, but take comfort in knowing he will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
Steve's family will be holding a Funeral Mass at 10am, followed by a Celebration of Life reception in the hall adjacent to the church at Saint Peter - All Hollows Parish, located at 5501 14th Avenue, Sacramento, CA 95820.
